Three Amigos by Gwen Shepperson of Wyoming, USA, 387 votes
Here's my favorite horse photo I took in 2014--we were trailing cattle down the mountain from summer pasture and had stopped to give the cows and horses a rest--everyone was happy to take a nap, except my nephew's horse Bunch--he wanted his picture taken--wherever I was with the camera, he was smiling for me!

Dee Dee by Andi Harmon of Oregon, 355 votes
This is tough so I'm just picking one. This is definitely a "favorite". This is "Dee Dee", an orphaned BLM foal meeting Chick (burro), Jake and Curly for the first time.

Photo has been taken in Szklary Górne, Poland, at the beginning of December. There was a horse running around the indoor arena and perspiring after training session. I was just waiting for the right moment and it finally came!

Here's my pick of my photos for the year. My trainer sending one of our most well-known reining stallions into a picture perfect stop, bridleless. Just playing around after his class outside at the Queensland Quarter Horse State Championships Australia June 2014.

It was late evening and the horses were running about. Ha ha...that is it, there is no fancy story or neat circumstance, they are just stunning and I got to be there to capture this amazing moment.

"Snow Flurry" by Pamela Hagedoorn, Oregon. Judge's Merit X2
it was taken on February 4, 2014, in Aumsville, Oregon. Aumsville is a small town I live by just outside of Salem.
Indy "Gidappy" is my now 5 year old off track Thoroughbred I bought the day of his last race in December 2012. When the snow started coming down in big beautiful flakes I drove down the barn I was keeping my horses at and turned them out into the arena to play and capture the snow pictures I had been hoping for.

This image was taken while I was on a photo shoot near to Manchester, England. It was only the second photo shoot I had ever done and I had such a wonderful day with this lovely little lady and her pony.

Photo by Jessica Orrissa Schaer, California. Judge's Merit
2014 was the first year I really dabbled in equine photography. I quickly fell in love. I worked with clients horses and with an equine therapy organization. But this picture is my favorite. It's my daughter and her lesson pony. Just reminds me of myself at that age, grooming my own horse in the hot sun and talking to her. This is the type of imagery I want to continue to produce in the new year.

My favorite horse picture of 2014 was taken at the Home On The Range Champions Match, in Sentinel Butte, ND. I titled it "Club NFR"! All the horses in the picture are from the J Bar J string, and all of them have been to the NFR. I love how you can see others trying to get a peek at me

Pearlesque by Alice Loder, UK. Judge's Merit
My best photo of 2014 would be my titled print 'pearlesque' it's taken me ages to sort out the setup of my outdoor studio to get this quality of lighting with the background. This photo represents hard work, frustration, perseverance and reward.
The name comes from the pearl effect of the stallions coat due to its breeding, many think he is an albino but he is intact a cremello this photo to me represents you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. For there may be a hidden pearl.
