Color Munki if you need to calibrate more than one machine.

Re: help with moniter calibration
If you're still looking, hope this is helpful. I have all three of Datacolor Spyder Elite 3, Xrite iOne Display Pro and Xrite Color Munki Photo. I use the XR-CMP for printer calibration although it will do deplays as well. But, my go-to display (monitory and projetor) is the XR-iOne, It is slightly higher priced than the others, but I love it. It (and its software) have features the others don't have, in particular the ability to measure and factor in ambient (room) light for different conditions. I don't use the Spyder anymore. I've converted completely to Xrite systems. BTW, once you decide, be sure you spend some time getting comfortable with soft-proofing, then printing to a printer that uses ICC profiles specific to your printer/paper combination(s).

Thanks everyone for your replies!
my husband surprised me with the spyder pro for my birthday
it's great and has made a huge difference in my moniters. oy, i can now see how awful some of my older edits are
but here's to a great new year, and accurate color!
