Powderhorn Ranch Women’s Retreat
Douglas, Wyoming
August 10 - August 16, 2021
New Date for Fall: October 7-12, 2021
Ladies: Join us for five nights at the beautiful Powderhorn Ranch http://www.dmhorses.com/ in beautiful Wyoming as we enjoy the hospitality and horsemanship of the wonderful True family. This is a truly special place where you can leave the world behind for a little while and enjoy the essence of the western landscape and lifestyle. Shoots will include herd drives, working cattle, cowgirl and cowboy portraits, dramatic landscape scenes, magical barn light, headshots, action and so much more! The new fall date will also include wildlife photography as it is available.
This retreat encourages ideas and collaboration from all attendees and although not technically structured as a workshop you can be sure to come away with lots of new ideas, knowledge and lifelong friends and memories. Many of our attendees return year after year so get your deposit in early to hold your spot!
We will also spend an evening and a morning before the retreat in Centennial, Wyoming to photograph the 350 mustangs who live at the Deerwood Mustang Sanctuary: NOTE: The Sanctuary Tour will only be offered during the August Retreat.
Location is Douglas, Wyoming, about one hour from Casper, WY airport. We will do our best to pick up and drop off at the Casper airport. If you plan to attend the Deerwood Sanctuary portion of the event plan to fly into Denver. We encourage car pooling and ride sharing and will have a group and email list to make connections.
All accommodations and meals will be provided, just bring your gear, a bathing suit for the hot tub and plan for a great time with a group of great ladies! All bedrooms are 2-4 beds (very comfortable) in a house with complete kitchen and laundry facilities. There is no cell service here but there is wireless. An optional trail ride will be offered.
This retreat is limited to 15 photographers. Please keep in mind that there will be no formal teaching other than what we share with each other, everyone is encouraged to bring ideas for sessions and help set up shots! We will have exclusive access to the ranch and all photos will be fully model and property released.
