Question- We have a new rescue organization here "Aspen Valley Horse Rescue." It was established when a few trainers/owners here found out about 60 or so pregnant former Premarin mares were set to be sent to slaughter by a Canadian rancher who said he couldn't afford to feed them. They are all draft breeds (because draft breeds make more urine) This great new rescue group brought all 60 to the valley in January. I have been photographing them.
Would it be possible for me to submit 4-8 photos to the project of several of these mares?

Update on Boo the blind horse - I took photos of Boo last year for this project and I have just visited him again and could,nt resist taking some fresh photos of him! He lost his companion Victor The Shire but has settled in with a new companion, a thoroughbred called Oliver. He is as happy as ever and loves the attention he receives from the staff at Redwings. Here he is with handler Jess.

Re: Horses in Need Documentary Photo Project 2010
Last year's Horses In Need project had very impressive submissions. The horses that aren't saved break one's heart, but the horses that go on to forever homes due to the efforts of individuals and groups is heartwarming. I'm blown away not just by the number, but the quality of this year's submissions. The quality of the images and writing is something everyone should be proud of. It's an honor to be in such good company.
