A revisit of horses I documented last year as 3 of them now live with me.

Thank you!

This made me cry! Guess it is supposed to. And sigh. It is wonderful that you have the place to run your herd! Alpine is a wonderful area. Your daughter I'm sure will be graced to grow up there!

Rachael,

It is wonderful to read the "after" part of the story. Your ranch indeed does look like heaven on earth . . . for you and yours and the horses. You make an interesting point (and one that doesn't occur to most people) about Spider mourning the loss of his friend Fin. They (and all animals) are souls that live and breath, have deep feelings and emotions just like humans, without all the malice. They ask for so little, but you have been blessed to be able to give them a piece of heaven.

It looks like you picked good ground, healing, peaceful ground . . . I look forward to hearing more about your rescued friends. Thank you,

Thank you so much Diana,

True, so many people don't realize horses are emotional creatures.
When Spider lost Fin he gained Fin's goat which helped some, but never again took up
one of our young horses to guide them. He had always been "the babysitter" but after
the loss of Fin he never wanted a thing to do with any of them until the three strikers.

Seeing him with Lazarus (who is now 2) made my heart whole for him. Now he roams with them all
but I can still see the change and how the loss of Fin effected him Permanently.

Thanks again for reading and commenting,
Best to you,
Rachael

Thank you Susan,

Here is the first link to the story I wrote last year after I met them. I need to link it to this new one as well.

So, I didn't have time to read this right now. I did, anyway. What a peaceful read. Just great stuff. :thumb:
